Developers and buyers responsible too, says Shabery (F*#% You!)
KUALA LUMPUR: The Government should not be held solely responsible for the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide disaster on Saturday.

Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek said it was not fair to slam the Government for failing to act every time a disaster happens.

“It is unfair to say the Government did not act. We cannot put the blame on just one authority. (Why the F*@% not?) two to tango, but this time there are three – the Government, developers and buyers,” he said yesterday.

Ahmad Shabery was commenting on the current blame game among the authorities, developers and the public after the devastating landslide at the up-market residential area which claimed four lives and destroyed 14 bungalows. (well looks like you are great at coming up with stupid lame excuses and finding scapegoats!)

Victims of the landslide have said they would sue the relevant government authorities for compensation. Ahmad Shabery, who is also the deputy chairman of the National Disaster and Relief Management Committee, said house buyers also needed to be critical, especially on safety aspects, when buying property on hillslopes.

He said prospective buyers should exercise their right to demand from developers that the properties be safe to live in and would be insured for natural disasters. (Here i THought the gvernment issues the CF (certificate of Fitness) After they have verified that the houses are fit to be occupied?!)

“Safety should override status and beauty. Buyers should make that clear to developers,” he said, adding that enforcement at local authority levels should be strengthened to prevent such disasters from recurring. (Isn't it the Government who approves land projects to be developed before the Developers are allowed to start any developement or am i wrong?!)

Its president Datuk N. Marimuthu said that this was because too many incompetent people were given “blank cheques” to wreak havoc on the environment, causing landslides and other natural disasters. — Bernama

God Loves you, Live Your Dreams!
Your God-Given Dream Is Meant to Come True.

Inside of each person there is a God-given dream that is meant to come true! God is a dreamer and He has created us in His image and with the ability to dream.
In order to live an abundant and prosperous life we are to use our ability to dream as a focal point, as we take action by implementing the ideas God gives us.

I believe God gives everyone ideas, but why are some people not pursuing their dreams? My theory is they may have had their hopes and dreams crushed too many times causing them to be fearful of dreaming any more. They have just adopted this attitude that "This is as good as it's ever gonna get, so let's just accept it."

Are you like that? Maybe you are afraid to get your hopes up in case "it doesn't work out." If it doesn't work out you will still be disappointed. You might as well get your hopes up and believe! Jesus said, "All things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23). But, "all things being possible" is a conditional statement because it is dependant on your belief, or disbelief.

So how do you start dreaming again? Since a dream is nothing more than a thought, or a series of thoughts, you begin there; by controlling your thoughts (you must control your thoughts or they will control you). Stop thinking negatively and begin to believe for great things. Search deep down for what it is that gets you excited. Find it, believe in it, and confess it.

It is vital that once you establish what it is that you want, that you back it up with words. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, "He who believes that those things which he says shall come to pass, shall have whatsoever he says."

It's a shame that so many people don't "get" that Scripture. They will get out of bed tomorrow and do the same thing they did yesterday. Doing the same work, seeing the same people, and complaining about the same things. And then the next day, the cycle will repeat itself. Day after day, week after week, year after year, and all of a sudden, life on earth will be over, and they will not have experienced what God had intended for them all along.

That's why Proverbs 29:18 says, "Without a vision the people perish." There is a God-given dream inside you, but it may have just gotten buried under all the cares of your life. You must dig it out because you must absolutely have a vision, or a dream, for your life! Your dream is what will cause you to jump out of bed in the morning instead of waking up with anxiety and dread for the day ahead.

When you first wake up every morning, immediately begin to focus on your dream. If you don't, you'll find it very easy to become discouraged and start complaining about things. This is definitely no way to start your day! Your God-given dream is meant to come true!

To me the proverb above are not just about helping the needy in terms of the poor, sick, aged, orphaned, abandoned, etc.
I read and i get the message of speaking up when injustice is being served to those around me.

Every time you do What is right you will be prosecuted.

This is true, You will be the "black sheep, the trouble maker, the 'Auntie', the One who doesn't shut up!'

But it is up to you to speak up for what is right or keep quiet and let injustice continue?



To me if i see something i feel is wrong, and i keep quiet it means i am condoning it. then I'll be a hypocrite! Something i despise.



Speaking up is not easy though, I know, you will have to face many many tough situations but knowing that you tried to speak up for the truth and Justice, even if you fail, you did something. that in it self is a victory.



If i have to go down, let me go down fighting!

Some one asked me "why do you voice up it's dangerous! Think! you have a family, what will happen if they kick you out?"

Yes i have a family, Yes! i am afraid, but it is for them that i voice up, How do i teach my kid to be a good person if i show her, by my example, that I'm a coward or worse a hypocrite? What will she learn then?

So ......... I pledge to continue to 'stick to my guns and do what is right.

I salute those you have voiced up for us in the past and continuing to do so.

What i do in my everyday life is small, it is not meaningless, Everything starts with just one person and one small step, and one day at a time.

I will voice up for in justice around me, at home, at work, at play, in my country, in this life.

MTUC wants Govt to stop bringing in foreign workers

THE Government should cancel the permits issued for foreign workers who have yet to enter into the country, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Quoting Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC) secretary general G. Rajasekaran, the report said the job opportunities could be opened to Malaysians in view of the current world economic crisis.

He said there would be at least 30,000 job vacancies available each month if the inflow of foreign workers was stopped.

He said with 227 employment agencies nationwide, more foreign workers were being brought in and this created more social problems. He added that due to the economic crisis, it is expected that the unemployment rate will rise from 3.6% to 4%, or 5%.


6,059 complaints against civil service this year
> Tamil Nesan reported that the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan was not worried about the complaints made against the civil service.

He said that these complaints provided an opportunity for the civil service to correct all flaws. The public has the right and freedom to voice their frustrations, opinions and suggestions about the civil services, he added.

He said there were 3,379 complaints in 2006, 5,437 last year and 6,059 till September this year.

Just my two cents worth here! But i seriously think the MTUC should find out 1st what jobs these local people are willing to do before they make suggestions.



Where i know now finding 1 operator is like finding a needle in a haystack! And keeping them ..... that a whole different story.



No locals wish to do the job. Oh they will say anything in order to get the job but 50% of the time they do not turn up for even the 1st day of work!



Another 30% will likely disappear after the 2nd day of work. the 20% will leave after not even 20 days of work! I've been trying to fill in one operator's position for the past 2years and 2 months! We have given up!



Now I've personally interview all the candidates and taken a variety thinking one will stick.

I've taken Malays (lasted 1 month), Sabahans (lasted 2 months), Indians (lasted 6 months), in they 20's, 30's, early 40's, married ones, single ones, parents, childless ones, educated ones, uneducated ones, male, female, etc.....



It's useless, they say the pay is too small, but their salary expectation as written on the form is less!, or they are not qualified for higher salary.



One guy told me he needed a salary of Rm1000.00, yes i can understand that but he is only until std6 primary school. He cant speak English, he cant read a drawing, he can't use any measuring tools he's not willing to learn from the bottom but he wants to earn the higher position's salary even the assistant supervisor working here for 5 years has not reached that basic salary yet. I told him he would need to get a different job then because we cannot afford to employ someone like him on that amount.



What do we do?? Get foreign workers. They are reliable, trustworthy, they do their job, no hanky panky, they don't complaint, they don't take many MC's. even though they get harassed by locals (in their neighbourhood) they still walk or cycle to work daily, wet or dry weather. Never late.



Now tell me as a factory on budget due to the economy, how much do you feel the factory can afford to pay an inexperience local worker who may leave at anytime just because they don't like working in a dirty & hot environment?



So i feel MTUC you should better survey the locals 1st because I'm a local too and i do not think i will want to take a job with a salary of RM500 basic and allowance of RM 130 a month doing a foreign workers job it's not even enough to put decent food on the table!
